The day started with an amazing sunrise, I had a few pit stops between Queensie and South Steyne to capture it.
Lainey doing a fine job on the Drinks Express cake stall, raising money for Lifeline, a great cause
Tide about as low as it gets, and people flocking from every direction
Huge group gathering for the national anthem and 7am let's go
And in they go, a long walk to the point!
Congrats Barb on y0ur 2,000km swim :)
Who is funnier than the Two Ronnies? The Two Robbies of course!
Lainey has helpers at the stall, and plenty of customers.
Aside from the algae in the bay, conditions were perfect. The 6km and 10km swimmers said that the water out towards Freshie point was silky smooth. I saw one dusky, but I'm sure there were plenty of other fish and marine life sightings.
Have a great day!
Tim
An important announcement...
Budgie Smuggler Random Swimmer of the Month and the Year
The Budgie Smuggler Swimmer of the Month for December is Johan Lequien. Johan will receive a voucher for a new pair of Budgy Smugglers from the Budgy Smuggler shop.
Our lucky Swimmer of the Year for 2022 is: Jenn Lyle who logged 100 swims throughout 2022 (the Swimmer of the Year must have logged at least one swim in each month of the year, have not won a Swimmer of the Month this year, and have not won a Swimmer of the Year previously). Jenn will receive a $200 Budgy Smuggler voucher.
To be in the running for Swimmer of the Month (and Swimmer of the Year), all you have to do is log your swims. The monthly winner is selected randomly from all those who have swum at least once during the month. The more times you swim the more chances you have to win the prize. So start logging now. Remember, you must log a swim in January to be in the running for Swimmer of the Year this year. If you don't know how, just email Ian, [email protected].
