What’s up? I will tell you what’s up Bugs…I am one excited little blogger today. My favourite NRL team “The South Sydney Rabbitohs” are vying for league’s best prize in the grand final this weekend against the Penrith Panthers. Now, I wasn’t sure if writing about the NRL grand final in a Manly swim blog was exactly my finest hour of themes, considering the Bunnies beat the Manly Sea Eagles to advance through to the grand final…but then I thought “FECK IT…it’s my blog today and it’s fair game” …’no rabbit stew jokes allowed’
But before I present you with what the rest of the swimming crew had to say on the matter, let’s get to today’s conditions.
The sun was up up up early this morning, as was the water temperature at 17.4 degrees! Yipee! It was a warm start to the day; Spring has certainly sprung. The ocean was a little on the tumultuous side with quite a few big sets rolling in and a lot of swirling and swaying of water. Several of us swam from halfway but plenty of others enjoyed the surf and swell and left from the surf club. There was a little bit of muck around near Shelly and the vis was about 4/10 but I still managed to swim with the PJ’s and heaps of bait fish. All in all a great start to any day and I am always left filled with gratitude. But today, I was extra grateful as from surveying willing participants I would say the Rabbits are the fave for the win! Except maybe one fan who predicted Rabbits will be defeated 12-10…how very dare !!
You can tell who is who in the zoo some made paws others bunny ears …our Panther supporters did neither…I guess showing their claws was a little too overwhelming!
A panther…stealth and laying in wait ! good luck
Mostly cute little bunnies ! hehe
Emma..seen here being a very covid responsible bunny and Marie!
Guess ?
The gentleman on the left predicted Panthers for the win…I will be looking out for him come Monday..just to gloat!
That’s all folk’s ! Enjoy your day….Go the bunnies!!!
Fin Yoga ! Xx

Winter Badge Collection 2021
The Winter badges are finally on their way! Congratulations to all those who completed their Covid-19 winter swimming challenge. As more than 500 swimmers qualified, the badge distribution this year will initially be via snail mail to maintain a Covid-safe environment for our volunteers. Unfortunately, only virtual handshakes and hugs from Ian, John, Anne and Pauline and contact-less distribution.
There are two ways you can obtain your badge(s)
- Method 1. Inside a self-addressed, stamped envelope place cash for your badge/s - $10 per badge for the Winter Badge (if you completed 20 swims over winter) and an extra $10 for the WWW Badge if you did those swims without a wetsuit. Family members/friends sharing an envelope must clearly name each swimmer and badge achieved. Please check postage rates and size of envelope required for multiple badges. Post this envelope in another envelope to Ian Forster, 6 Bligh St, Northbridge. 2063.
- Method 2. Wait until Covid restrictions on gathering are relaxed. We will then arrange a time for you to collect your badges from us in person. No promises when this will be but it may be when the vaccination rate reaches 80%.
Badges will be posted as soon as they arrive. If you have any other badges that you are missing and wish to purchase, please include cash for those as well.
