Today's swim had just about everthing included, and then more. I wasn't expecting alot as I started from Shelly and walked in the rain to the water. Always glad to have some water therapy though and the temperature was warm so there's no difficulty in motivation. The only reason I started from Shelly was because I've injured my back and need to avoid waves for the moment.
I came across the early crew, Drinks Express, kindly waiting for the stragglers to arrive from Manly before they head off as a group again.
I made my way up the scenic route to half way and came across these three people who were a delight to chat to. They had just seen the turtle so we had a little look around and found her just sitting there waiting for me and my camera.
I didn't get another good shot again because the next thing I saw was this:
It's got two sharp hooks, and I had to dive down to pull hard on the long line that was stuck in the weeds way down below. The turtle was headed towards the long line but anyone else could also have easily have swum into these hooks and the other "bits" that I don't care to know the name of.
So the turtle got away but I was grateful to the group for helping me. Once I made my way down to Shelly again amongst some lovely bumpy water, I found a fiddler ray near the Bower Break.
I came across Craig and co as they arrived at Shelly
Jim was getting his kayak ready to keep some swimmers company as they headed off to Queenscliff, he just needed a helping hand to get going.
It's Alison Harmers birthday, so she had a birthday swim with friends then breakfast.
During the week I did some gentle swimming after work, clarity was nice especially in the shallows.
Can anyone identify that fish above? He kept returning to the weed to hide.
My view towards Shelly today
The organised group
There was a juvenile grey nurse out there today,Alison got footage but I never saw it.
Below is a message from Julie, have a nice weekend :) Edwina.
Covid has brought with it many changes for everyone all around the world and B&B is no exception.
Whilst we have lots to be extremely grateful for in Australia and within B&B, a number of our swimmers have been personally affected and are experiencing challenging times.
In response to this it was suggested that some swimmers might like to support their fellow swimmers, by utilising their skills where they could.
As such, within our daily attendance software we have included a ‘profession section’. Swimmers can now, should they choose, list their profession and location within their profile on our website. This then allows anybody within our B&B community to: ‘Check with B&B First’ when looking for a resource / tradesperson to use.
If you would like to participate in this, please go to our B&B daily attendance website: webapp.boldandbeautifulmanly.com.au

Click on your name, top right. Then click on ‘my profession’ and add your details.
To search if a fellow B&B swimmer has the skills you’re looking to use, click on your name, top right, then ‘Find a professional’.
Don’t forget to keep on logging your swims too.
You don’t want to miss out on your Covid Summer Badge or your Corona Super Swimmer Summer Badge. You might be awarded a Budgy Smuggler Voucher as the lucky recipient of random swimmer of the month or year. Most importantly it’s lovely to see who has swim each day. Don’t forget, if you can’t swim at Manly, you can still log a Covid Swim.
Please keeping swimming, look after yourselves and stay connected.
