I had a very different blog planned for today. A light hearted and fun account of "Where in the world" would you swim if not here in our glorious bay. And then I was asked to be a voice for a swimmer who was literally grabbed, by an on coming swimmer, around the waist and "tossed" out of the way as she swam across to Shelly. She was visibly shaken by the ordeal and understandably very upset. As was I, on hearing this story. There is no excuse for this type of bullying when we gather to share this magical part of the world. Not only is it disrespectful but it's also dangerous. We are blessed and fortunate to be able to share, 'share' being the operative word, this paradise and most of the people who swim here, BnB or other, would agree. Please be courteous and kind to fellow swimmers. Covid has meant we now swim at all different times of the day and collisions are happening more often. Look up when you swim, and be aware of others around you. And, if you are involved in an accident or a close call, check to see if everyone is ok. I have been apart of this amazing BNB community for 5 years and I swim because of it. We won't stand for this type of behaviour and I am sure if any of us witnessed this kind of assault on another swimmer, we would speak out. The ocean is there for all to enjoy.
The conditions were a little challenging, but also fun today. The water was 21.7 degrees and there was some pretty big sets rolling in. The best part though, not a bluey in sight!!
Have a great day everyone and don't forget to be kinder than is necessary! I will leave you with some pics of some lovely swimmers..and not a tosser amongst them :)

Covid has brought with it many changes for everyone all around the world and B&B is no exception.
Whilst we have lots to be extremely grateful for in Australia and within B&B, a number of our swimmers have been personally affected and are experiencing challenging times.
In response to this it was suggested that some swimmers might like to support their fellow swimmers, by utilising their skills where they could.
As such, within our daily attendance software we have included a ‘profession section’. Swimmers can now, should they choose, list their profession and location within their profile on our website. This then allows anybody within our B&B community to: ‘Check with B&B First’ when looking for a resource / tradesperson to use.
If you would like to participate in this, please go to our B&B daily attendance website: webapp.
Click on your name, top right. Then click on ‘my profession’ and add your details.
To search if a fellow B&B swimmer has the skills you’re looking to use, click on your name, top right, then ‘Find a professional’.
Don’t forget to keep on logging your swims too.
You don’t want to miss out on your Covid Summer Badge or your Corona Super Swimmer Summer Badge. You might be awarded a Budgy Smuggler Voucher as the lucky recipient of random swimmer of the month or year. Most importantly it’s lovely to see who has swim each day. Don’t forget, if you can’t swim at Manly, you can still log a Covid Swim.
Please keeping swimming, look after yourselves and stay connected.
