The water was surprisingly flat, warm and clear this morning after a night of heavy rain so there was a lot of excitement in the air!! The beach was open, flags were up and all was good with the world! But once showered, with coffee in hands, the flags disappeared! 😳 The beach was closed due to pollution levels being too high! 😳😳 Fingers crossed there are no upset stomachs (or worse) tonight!!
What do you call a group of WOWS gas bagging in the middle of the ocean? A Gassle of WOWS?
This dad and his sons were making the most of the day and this was their first outing in Cabbage Tree Bay. They were loving every minute of their new experience!
It was Tina's (centre) first swim today and John and Ann were showing her the ropes! She seemed very happy to be in the water.
Staunchy was having a private chuckle to himself probably about stealing his next door neighbours delivery of toilet paper.
Fifi was earnestly trying to sell her thongs. I almost bought them but didn't have any money on me.
Bernie, David, Mick and Mick had just finished a good surf. They are long time surfers and unlike us BnB swimmers, they don't have a name for their surfing group. Mick piped up 'unless others have given us a name we don't know about!"
Their smiles say it all!!
There's a stingray in behind all those bubbles!
This beautifully patterned fiddler ray doesn't quite match its rather unfortunate scientific name Trygonorrhina. I think we should just stick to calling it a fiddler ray.
This wobbiegong was a bit camera shy!
The girls went down to get a closer look at him but he disappeared under a rock.
This is a small jellyfish (looks bigger in the photo) but not a stingy one.
So tempted to take this for a joy ride!!!
Alison is surreptitiously trying to push over the seagull sitting on the sign while Amanda and Monica cover for her by acting super casual!!
Art and Phil were helping me remember their names for the blog! We came up with ArtPhil Dodger!
Last but not least, Christopher from Maitland who comes down to Manly for holidays each year at Xmas was explaining to us that he swims in the Merewether Ocean Baths, Merewhether, during the year which is 100metres long! Impressive size for a pool!!
Have a great rest of week, keep safe and keep wearing those masks!
Lucy
