Conditions looked perfect today as I arrived early to swim a Boulderdash, my first for the year. Summer badges start in about 7 weeks so I thought I'd better start training up, and Kevin was keen to join me so hopefully it happens each weekend now.
The 6.30 crew ready to roll down the ramp and do their thing.
The tide was starting to come in as we all started and by the time I got back at 8am, where I'd left my clothes on the first step was now getting splashed with water. A lovely man named Craig kindly moved all my goodies to the top step while I was still swimming. Then he helped my clamber down the steps to the ramp, thank you Craig :)
Just as I left Manly a beautiful eagle ray swam under me, so pretty.
No other wildlife seen going to Queenscliff, which is a good thing. I heard afterwards there was a great white shark outside Cabbage Tree Bay at Deadman's, near some spear fishermen. Note: No injuries, just a shark swimming around some humans , all parties happy.
Kevin did his first Boulderdash today and conditions were perfect , nice glassy water with the odd wave around. Warm temperature at 18.5 degrees.
It seemed a bit choppier on return, and water coming in much higher.
Here's Roz , always with a smile, and always enjoys her swims
The WOWS had fun at Shelley with Kerry, her second last swim in Sydney for a while. Thanks Anne for the pic.
Today was the day to get badges and/or sign up as a newbie, they had a busy morning catching up on the previous months' transactions.
Then I found these three shivering and shaking in the protection of a sheltered bench. So cute, it's 18.5 in the water, 18 in the air, and we're all still feeling cool like it's really winter.
Paul and Jack were coffee-ing after their swim, Jack's keen to join the Saturday blog team, yay :)
Sheena accidently took home a wetsuit that's just like hers, but wrong size. She's a small, contact me or answer on the blog if you accidentally took hers' home.
The leaving view:
Have a great weekend everyone, Edwina.
