I must admit I wasn't looking forward to swimming as much as normal this morning after the horrendous wind and drop in temperature yesterday afternoon. But as I neared MSLC this morning I was pleasantly surprised - the water was just gorgeous.
The tower on the other hand had many swimmers wondering if the temperature checkers were having a joke with everyone - they weren't. Surprisingly it was cooler near the point and rocks than further out and even Shelly Beach.
Looking forward to their Saturday morning ritual.
This morning the paddlers were out in force doing laps around Cabbage Tree Bay and playing dodge-em with the swimmers.
The sun was shining, the water just stunning enticing everyone to jump in and have a swim.
Kerry is heading back to the States so the WOW's had a lovely get-together to say their farewells with some drone footage from our super videographer Greg and images soon to be available. We wish her best wishes on her new adventures and hope she makes it back to our shores in the future for some more swims.
Tomorrow a few of my friends who were meant to be in Cairns this weekend completing an Ironman will be doing their own version "Coronaman" around the beaches. This will include a 3.8k swim, 180k bike and 42.2 k run finishing around the Corso tomorrow late afternoon. Best wishes for your adventure Dave and Josh and their training partners supporting them throughout the day.
Till next time - keep swimming and if you haven't seen it yet be sure to watch The Octopus Teacher on Netflix - amazing documentary.
