BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE RISKS OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19). IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONTINUE PHYSICAL DISTANCING AND FOLLOW PUBLIC HEALTH ADVICE.
Thank you for swimming at different times of the day and
please continue to maintain 1.5m distance - even in blog photos!
Here are the 'WOWS'!!! Some amazing friendships are forged down at The B&B. 'The Wows' or 'Women of the Wall' can often be seen laughing together, swimming together and enjoying coffee after the swim. They are a lovely bunch and are inclusive and friendly to all. A couple of years ago a lovely Californian lady called Kerry appeared at the Surf Club. She was embraced by these ladies and her beaming smile, enthusiasm and positive spirit endeared her to everyone she met. Sadly she has to go back to CA soon but the display above was put on for Kerry on Saturday morning. Organised by Jac Shell and photographed by Greg Cole it was a spectacular sight! More photos and a video at end of blog!
Back to today's swim! the sun rose above 'Winky Pop' this morning at 5.42am!
This group of mates had already set off 5 minutes earlier. They'll be back to headlights on their caps next week!
The amazing drone photographer and videographer (from the Wows shot) Greg, is third from the left. This was early this morning and he's with Monday blogger Simon, Danny and Jo.
I interrupted Alex getting dressed... Jo always gives me an early report on underwater sightings. She didn't see a Grey Nurse today...
...but Duncan did and 'it was big' he attempts to demonstrate!
The water temp was up today from an all time B&B low of 14.2 on Saturday to 17.5 today. It didn't feel much different to me, still frrreezin'... Edwina comes out smiling but shivering!
With all the different groups swimming at different times through covid this is 'The Mermaids and Mermen' group. Everyone is welcome to swim with them I'm sure! Some faces I know here are Lyndell, Simone. Jo, Sally and Daniel.
John Bond came down for an earlier swim today. In Summer he often leads the 6km and 10km swims that go on Saturdays. Not sure if we'll have them this year due to covid but he's the man to ask.
The water was clear in most parts today although there was a pinky/brown algae in the water towards the shed, I was lucky enough to see a couple of PJs though as were lots of people I spoke to.
Not quite as exciting as when I chanced upon 4 PJS attempting to mate off Shelly Beach a week or so ago. The large female was being pinned down by 3 smaller males attempting to do the bizz. It was quite extraordinary!
There's been a few Wobbies around too.
Don't think anyone saw a Turtle or Cuttlefish today but plenty of Crimson Banded Wrasse, Old Wives and Gropers around.
Back at The Surf Club I wander around looking for friendship groups to take photos of. These guys called themselves 'The Grumpy Old Men'!
I'm not sure what these guys call themselves... They usually swim at 6.30am so are part of 'The Drinks Express' and Suzie is the Grace Kelly of the group!
Here are 'The People of The Point', John and Kristy, Steve and Pete, Jordan, Izzy and Sam. They called themselves 'The Gifted and Talented' this morning. They can be seen most mornings chewing the fat, discussing a sophisticated range of topics like... if it's a panda or a love heart design on their coffee, what sort of shorts Anthon will be wearing today and so on ;-)

Above is the video took by Greg and is absolutely stunning showing Cabbage Tree Bay at it's best on Saturday!
This is the lovely Kerry who is leaving soon, on the left.
