I came down today thinking conditions would be massive like Wednesday. They were but not for the skilled swimmers but the conditions were ok for me at halfway when I finally got there. It was terrifying for me to watch some skilled swimmers making their way through the waves AND the seventy or so surfers that were at the point.
The Bold and Beautiful swim is still officially closed, as we are still limited to a smaller number of folk who would normally swim at 7am. It does give the opportunity to experience your swim at different times of the day.

I admire the skill it requires to swim in conditions like these. Some of the swimmers who emerged said it was fun. Well there are people who also enjoy roller coasters. Not only big waves occasionally but also getting through the surfers who, lovely as they are, are focussed on getting onto a wave and not swimmer safety. All survived. Well probably - one cap with no swimmer attached found

Behaviour modification required
We have received some complaints about the lack of social distancing and number of people congregating outside MSLC. Government regulations still require us to keep 1.5m away from each other unless you live in same house. We appreciate that you want to chat to your friends and socialise but we need your help to make sure we comply with these regulations before we are forced to introduce more onerous restrictions.
With that in mind we ask that you prespect your fellow swimmers and members of the public in the following manner:
- Please start leaving bags and gear on the beach or step at below the ramp rather than outside MSLC. Don't congregate at the narrow part of the pathway!
- Keep at least 1.5m apart before, during and after all swims.
- Arrive, complete your swim and leave.. If you are having coffee or socialising please do so away from the MSLC
- Consider swimming at different times to keep the number of people congregating at MSLC to a minimum.
Thanks for your cooperation.
What I have been reading
Next book in the Childrens House series by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. I am enjoying this so much that I kept reading last night way past my bedtime making it hard to get up in time to photograph the early swimmers. I am also 'reading' on audible, the Australian crime fiction with main character Gemma Woodstock, The Dark Lake. Really good. Highly recommend
