BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
June 30. So there you have it - the first half of the year. Gone.
So what is on your mind when you swim?
Sometimes I swims and thinks, sometimes I just swims.
I was thinking about where I would emerge if I got out at Shelly Beach, started digging in the sand to make a sandcastle and just kept kept digging and digging … and digging. All the way through the centre of the earth and out the other side.
Where would I end up? Think about it.
The answer is at the end of the blog.
Above: This is where I would start my dig at Shelly Beach.
Above: Lyndell says swimming clears whatever is on your mind. Lyndell is a convert from pool swimming and enjoys every minute.
Above: Sally and Kate with Chance. Kate emphasises that is not about the swim, it’s about the meditation. Chance thinks it's not about the swim, it's about the treat afterwards.
Above: Ian taking the temperature earlier in the day - it was a balmy 17 degrees Celsius.
Above: Guy, Richard and Brian are some of the contingent of B&Bers who have clocked up a full month of consecutive winter swims. How did you go in June?
Above: Just another thought from my swim – give way to people swimming into the sun because you can probably see them but they may not be able to see you.
Above: Libby uses her morning swim in order to start the day with a clear mind.
Above: Charl uses his swim to think about his hair and how he will appear well groomed in the blog.
Above: Jo likes to wrestle with major global problems during her swim. Charl thinks that Jo uses the time to work how to dry her hair so it looks like she has not swum.
Above: John thinks about a hot shower while swimming but more importantly on how to swim a straight line and obtain even power from his strokes.
Above: Daniel says its about the mood not the thinking. He’s is unhappy if he does not get in a sunrise swim.
Above: A pigeon … in search of a statue?
Above: Here is the answer to the question at the top of this blog.
If I kept digging straight through the earth from Shelly Beach, I would emerge in the sea just off the Cape Verde islands which are off the coast of West Africa.
Google: "Where you'd pop up if you dug straight through the earth" if you want to explore.
Number of swimmers:
114 people by 11am
150 people by 1pm
Temperature: Balmy 17 Celsius
Keep warm and safe and remember it ain’t over till it’s over.

Due to Covid-19 and the current government guidelines limiting the number of people allowed to be in a group, Bold & Beautiful is still currently suspended.
But we recognise many of our swimmers are still swimming at various times and locations, and it is more important than ever to remain fit, healthy and connected.
As such, B&B is offering this unique, one off, Covid 2020 Winter Challenge Badge, kindly designed by our amazingly creative swimmer, Linda from Manly Mac Art.
To qualify for your Covid Winter Challenge Badge you need to swim 20 times across 7 different weeks of winter, between 1st June - 31st August.
If you are swimming at Manly, any time of the day, please continue to log your swim as Manly - Shelly Swim, this swim will not only count towards your Covid Winter Challenge Badge, it will also continue to count towards the Pacific Challenge.
If you are swimming in any other location, anywhere in the world, please tick your swim as 'Covid Swim', this will give you a special 19m on the Pacific Challenge and will count towards your Covid Winter Challenge.
Log your 20 (or more) swims without a wetsuit and you will be eligible for the special 2020 ICC (Ice Cold Corona) badge.
YOU MUST LOG YOUR SWIMS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE YOUR COVID BADGE(S)
