BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING. (COVID-19)
"Are you looking at me"? This fish must be called Robert. If you don't understand what I mean, just ask Janet.
The bay was awash with magical images today of sun speckled and still waters, azure skies, inquisitive fish and cheerful swimmer faces (before entering cold water of course!)
Clearly something exciting was happening in the yellowtail community today as they were out in droves, swimming more enthusiastically than usual and closer to the surface!
Except in this photo when they weren't swimming close to the surface. And that's Lainey, not a large yellowtail with pink and blue bits - although she is known as the manly mermaid.
You can't get more magical conditions than this. Swimmers meandering into the cool water to get their fix of Vitamin sea before diving into the day ahead.
It may have been 10 degrees outside and 16.something in water but it's mind over matter so instead of thinking about it, embrace it as is clearly shown here!
Some of us were finishing the swim as others began it.
Dancing(Shelley) and romancing(Michael and Louise)
Mind over matter. "It is not cold. The sun is out"!
Annie spotted this beautiful big wobble and followed it for a little while when it decided to stop directly below us for a photo opportunity.
Nice fins.
This guy was a little too close to the cuttlefish who was swimming its little heart out, most likely already traumatised from witnessing yesterday's event. And if he didn't witness it, he certainly would have heard about it from the fish community as we did from the swimmer community! Kerry, Jo and Clare witnessed a blue groper fighting a cuttlefish and ripping it apart. Apparently he pulled out its eyes and then pulled off its tentacles. All a bit traumatic! Jo is recreating the event for us through sketching. Kerry was particularly upset with the groper for the vicious attack, but you just never know. It could have been payback!
This is a photo of a cuttlefish eating a groper which Lainey took two years ago. Say no more!
Richard reskilled during COVID and is hiring himself out as a party entertainer. To book him, please call 1300RichardRocks.
Have a great week!
Stay safe!
Cheers
Lucy

Swim Anywhere, Any time to qualify for your 2020 Once Off - Unique - Covid Winter Challenge
Due to Covid-19 and the current government guidelines limiting the number of people allowed to be in a group, Bold & Beautiful is still currently suspended.
But we recognise many of our swimmers are still swimming at various times and locations, and it is more important than ever to remain fit, healthy and connected.
As such, B&B is offering this unique, one off, Covid 2020 Winter Challenge Badge, kindly designed by our amazingly creative swimmer, Linda from Manly Mac Art.
To qualify for your Covid Winter Challenge Badge you need to swim 20 times across 7 different weeks of winter, between 1st June - 31st August.
If you are swimming at Manly, any time of the day, please continue to log your swim as Manly - Shelly Swim, this swim will not only count towards your Covid Winter Challenge Badge, it will also continue to count towards the Pacific Challenge.
If you are swimming in any other location, anywhere in the world, please tick your swim as 'Covid Swim', this will give you a special 19m on the Pacific Challenge and will count towards your Covid Winter Challenge.
Log your 20 (or more) swims without a wetsuit and you will be eligible for the special 2020 ICC (Ice Cold Corona) badge.
