While ANZAC Day blessed us with the most incredible swim conditions which will be etched in our memories forever...
....swimming is not the only exercise that can create immense satisfaction! Walking in the fresh air is another! If you haven't already, pull on your joggers and walk briskly around your suburb, keeping a look out for teddy bears in windows - part of the global COVID initiative set up for kids called 'Going on a bear hunt'.
To get involved, all you need to do is place a bear in your window for local kids to spot and enjoy on their walks. It's a great motivator to get kids and families outside to exercise!
I've loved spotting the bears in my neighbourhood and enjoying their colours, shapes and sizes....
and the creative ways in which they are being displayed. However, recently, as I kept walking and looking... the strangest thing happened.....
...the bears became more human like and very, very familiar......
..even BnB pink familiar!
and BnB expressive and costume familiar!
These are very strange times, right? Anything's possible, right? It is quite plausible that the BnBers are taking over the Global COVID Bear Hunt with their very own 'Going on a BnB hunt initiative! Conscious of the fact we are not allowed to travel beyond our own suburb, I engaged volunteers to walk the streets and report back on what they saw.
Windows upon windows of houses across hundreds of Sydney suburbs were filled with fabulous BnB faces. Less and less bears were spotted by our volunteer scouts.
The volunteers decided to check in on the hospitals...
No matter which way they looked.....the pink caps were there!
Drones with infrared were then deployed at night
Night shots confirmed BnB numbers were well and truly up. Drones were deployed across NSW and interstate...
In every window, BnBers were spotted including Melbourne airport where some are in isolation!
Drones were then deployed overseas. More and more telling footage came back.
As far away as the Antarctic Polar Circle 66° 55.788’ S 67° 28.866’ W BnBers were there but not a bear in sight.....
Oh wait?.....no....that's not a bear - that's a pink cap enjoying isolation in Tahiti
And still in Tahiti, on the back of the boat and appearing through the porthole.....last but not least... our very own pink cap!
So move over teddy bears...it's official! A new COVID 19 initiative, great for all the family, is called 'Going on a BnB Hunt!' Get out there today! See who you can spot and let us know!
Stay safe and have a great week!
Lucy
