Hi everyone, well the last day of summer has really turned it on for us - sunshine and a clear calm ocean. What a way to greet the weekend!
The early ones
Still quiet at 6:38 - the early swimmers have left... where is everyone?
The stalwarts
Quite a few newbies
Brendan and Brad.... did I get that right?
It's Flavia's second swim but she still feels like a newbie
In the absence of Rainer (say hi to your Mum for me), Shelley is fine tuning the art of the photo bomb
The crowd arrives, and what a jolly crowd it is.
Is it striped t shirt day?
Today is Rare Disease Day and there was an information table about it
And these lovely girls were doing face painting as part of it
JK had announcement about the bluebottle (faces fall)
There are none. Also, the Rare Diseases Day people were running a raffle for some pairs of fancy new goggs, and (as if that was not enough) they were shouting coffee.
Gypsy was hoping that dog treats might be on offer
Lots of love happening
Heading into the water at last
This is Elizabeth and Fiona discussing their 6km strategy.
Shelly
And now for the marine creatures
I don't think the turtle was too impressed with the huge audience
I saw him walking on the water as the sharks were coming for me....... ( it's a quote, don't stress)
Wave shot, best I could manage this morning
Lucky raffle winners
Management Notices
Temp: 22
Swimmers more than 180
Newbies quite a few
The Monthly Dinner – 10th March 2020 – Wine Tasting
The next B&B monthly dinner will be held on Tuesday 10th March at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Special guest, David Webster, will present the range of Bold and Beautiful wines especially for B&B members and their friends. The Bold and Beautiful wines were born out of the idea of creating a village wine for Manly. The wines comprise two wines made in the Hunter Valley by rising star James Becker of M&J Becker Wines. The red, “The Beautiful", is a Shiraz Viognier blend made in a very light style perfect for summer drinking. The white, "The Bold", is 100% Chardonnay made in a fruit forward style with strong Chardonnay flavours but low oak usage. Once you have tasted the wines, you can purchase bottles through the restaurant to enjoy over dinner.
Please book early for this event as it is sure to be popular. The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each (please note, NO BYO). Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential. To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book atwww.boldandbeautifulmanly.com.au/bb-bluewater-monthly-dinner.html .

Adam Graham's 10km Swim for his Bushfire Fund
Just to let you know that yesterday, Adam took to the Millfield School pool in the UK to undertake his 10km ( 200 laps of the 50m pool) swimming challenge.
He successfully completed the challenge in 2hrs 34 mins, comfortably within his 3 hr target.
His project aroused quite a bit of local attention in Somerset where Millfield School is located. The local radio station BBC Radio Somerset interviewed him before and after the event.
He asked us to pass on his sincere thanks to your members who kindly donated to his cause.
Here’s a link to a 3 sec video clip showing him looking rather exhausted after the swim!

What am I listening to? On Thursday I had the very good fortune to see 10CC in concert, supported by Russell Morris and his band. While I am a very big fan of the latter I have to say 10CC pretty much lifted the roof off the Enmore.
Here is a video of the band in its current incarnation. The young vocalist is excellent and a great fit with old timers.
