There was confusion and chaos at the swim this morning. Our beloved Shelley Beach was closed due to, dare I say, 'pollution' so we were instructed by Anne, to go North. It was stressful and anxiety levels were high, so to keep the people calm I decided we could all use 'a little Christmas'.
You say North...I say North Pole. So I asked the BIG question..."What's your favourite Christmas movie?"
Here's what our jolly swimmers had to say...
Anne, who is doing a fab job of fearless leader, says, Rudolph the red nose reindeer. An oldie but a goodie.
Henrietta loves Coventry carol... a christmas tale about King Herrod and killing babies. She assures me that it's a wonderful movie, think I will take her word for it!
Rachael, Sam and Marlot, newbies from the UK and France say, Miracle on 34th street and The Holiday. Which incidentally, there's finishes today and will be flying back to the UK this afternoon...DON'T GO!
Charlie and Campbell were both fans of Love Actually...it appears we have some S.N.A.G's on our hands ( sensitive new age guys) and Bex was causing mischief watching Home Alone..."KEVIN!!" A classic.
Ben who didn't actually swim this morning threw me a curve ball and said, "The office Christmas special" which isn't actually a movie but 'tis Christmas, so I will let him get away with that.
We had another vote for Home Alone from Neil and Gunnar, after much deliberation, said Ground Hog Day... a little like our swim... not really ;)
The fabulous Emma said, Polar Express with Tom Hanks as the driver...and then I got a lengthy synopsis, she really loves this movie. I will be watching with a big box of popcorn!
Ken said, "The Grinch" although he isn't one...phew!
Sam will be watching It's a wonderful life and miracle on 34th Street...grab the tissues people.
And Danny made up a movie title " Christmas in New York". Although I'm sure it exists.
The festive movie recommendation comes from Marco. "Same procedure as last year" A funny movie about New Year's eve. We also had Matt and Alex who were walking past...but were too sweet not to talk to, they said, "Polar Express and Love Actually". And our resident photographer extraordinaire, Lainey recommends Bad Santa. She said she and her kids love this film...! She's a cool mum!
The most creative response comes from David who says, he has too much booze at Christmas time to remember and our pooch at the wall Buddy, whispered to me with his favourite, The search for Santa Paws..who knew??
So get that pop corn popping, pour the egg nog, grab the fam and sit back and enjoy!
Anne and Henrietta
Rachael, Sam and Marlot
Marlot with late comer and newbie Quentin. He was swayed by the ladies for Love Actually.

Non swimmer Ben! has a cap on...just of a different colour.
Here was have Charlie and Campbell and they both said "love actually" Don't you reckon Campbell looks like Sam from the movie??? Google it, you will agree. Freaky!
WOW's..Georgina ( mama to the magical whispering dog Buddy and Emma)
Passers by, Matt and Alex. He loves Polar Express too!
Our beautiful Buddy.
i will leave you with this Lainey amazing pic of a hazy sunrise from Lainey...thanks Lainey. Maybe she wasn't up late watching Christmas flicks...Like me!
