Today has become one of those schizophrenic weather days where's it's totally unpredictable what's happening from hour to hour. Right now the sun is shining but as I arrived at the swim at 6.30am, there were no runners along the promenade to avoid, lots of waves crashing on the sand and a high tide climbing closely to me. You know if the long distance swim from Palm Beach to Shelly is called off due to bad weather , the swimming conditions won't be what we're used to.
Hardly a soul about as I meander to the club:
Everyone was sheltering from the rain as they waited for the announcement of whether to walk to Shelly or not
Two newbies Simon and Michiel
The lovely moment I saw a lady with her dog was lost quickly as she jumped out of my cameras view, definitely not a blog tart! Still a beautiful pooch and no , it's not Napolean:
Most people walked around to Shelly at Ian's advice except for the few rebels in the group:
Henrietta and Elizabeth having a yarn before starting the swim :
I enjoyed a bounce around in the bay as some hydrotherapy for my sore back, and then had a great chat with Elizabeth about solicitors, nurses and everything else possible:
The half way scene as I walked back from Shelly to Manly
When it's a bad day for the swimmers it's a good day for the surfers, and they were about in dozens enjoying the surf-
this man contemplating his next move:
Stats from today:
temperature 22.7, 3 newbies, and 60 swimmers!
