Yep it was cold, but refreshingly so. Once you got to the point it warmed up at least 1 degree.
A light easterly breeze and next to no swell at all and zing in the water at 15.5 degrees. That was the summary, and the detail will see the swell rise through to Saturday to about 1 metre on the back of light westerly breezes tending Northerly toward the end of the week.
A chilly kickoff as the Sun peeked over the horizon but lots of eager beavers keen to test the veracity of the board.
As the Sun finally got around the corner, the temps lifted. The excitement was palpable.
Not a lot of people this morning but Ian suggested 140 over the morning.
Nothing was off limits pre swim to stay warm , even the jammies.
Lots of easing in this morning
And Bryon and Melanie announced they are expecting.
And the limbering begins
Followed by the mutterings
And the comparisons to take ones mind off the job at hand
And the reflections....
And teddy takes the front running home
And at last the warm shower
Have a great week y'all.
Brian

Monthly Dinner – 14th August 2018 – Guest Speaker
The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 14th August at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Our guest speaker on the night will be B&B swimmer, Brendan Maher. Brendan, who describes himself as a very average swimmer, managed to overcome a chronic shoulder injury and swim the English Channel in July 2017. He will speak of his motivation, training for the swim, and what it's like for the average swimmer to attempt a marathon swim. This talk will be an inspiration to all of us who count ourselves in the ‘B Team’ (or even the Zeds!).
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.
