I enjoyed my swim this morning and meeting all the others who enjoyed the sea, sun, calm waters and a great start to the day.
Even though it is getting to the winter solstice, people swim early so when I arrive, they are already showering
Wendy is finally back here from UK walking - probably only for a bit until another adventure. Lovely to see you Wendy
happy birthday Pip
You can't imagine how far I had to walk to get this shot. Metres and metres
Polly is such an excellent dog she is being cloned
Rare sighting of Greg out of the water
Here's Lucy. I thought me driving from Lane Cove was a long way to come for a swim - Lucy came from Queensland! and she brought Craig and Scott.
Robin is a genius. i was telling him that my Garmin is inaccurate - even when I feeling I am speeding through the water it still shows me being slow. I had the idea of getting a watch that is a whiteboard and I would write on it the time I feel that I am doing but Robin suggested a watch that gets to 30 minutes and then starts to count back! I am reserving one for myself now. Jackie set off to tell Ian of Pip's birthday at Shelly but was so taken by the swim she forgot. Lovely swimming costumes
Volare means flying in Italian. Some fast swimmers in this group!
Robin and a swimmer whose Garmin works hard.
Lucy and dad Ian enjoying the point
Where is the point? There is the point
A speeding swimmer splashed Ian and is making off with a high elbow and Nat thinks it is hilarious
Ray joined us from Terrigal where they have 7, 8 and 9 o'clock swims to suit everybody and they are ok but not as good as here. He has come along to swim with BB and also see his new granddaughter who at 6 weeks is still a short way off swimming with BBs
Here is Ray with his daughter Sabine - mum of future swimmer

WINTER BADGES
The Winter swimming season is finally here!
Although the water temperature may be a little colder than you might like, there are several advantages of swimming in winter, including flat seas, good visibility and no bluebottles.
Perhaps the biggest advantage is that you can also qualify for a winter badge by swimming a minimum of 20 times between 1st June and 31st August.
You must also swim in at least 7 different weeks. If you manage to do all of your qualifying swims without a wetsuit (or other thermal enhancing equipment), you will also qualify for the coveted WWW badge (Winter without wetsuit).
So start now, and don’t forget to log your swims to qualify.

What I have been reading
Just finishing the Magpie Murders by Horowitz which has a good and original take on the usual books and is pleasing. Also I am enthusiastically waiting each week for the podcast of Teacher's Pet issued by the Australian and about the disappearance of a woman in the 1980s from the Northern Beaches. It is really good listening as I drive to and fro to swim.
