I recall a campaign from my youth called Life. Be in it. which featured an animated guy called Norm who got up from in front of the Tv and undertook some activity. It was a public health campaign to encourage movement. It was really effective. We need it again. After the 1950s Olympics in Victoria, there were Olympic size pools built all around NSW for people to enjoy. Lots are being knocked down for leisure centres now and we are too soft to swim out of doors (gasp). After the recent Commonwealth Games it made me think thee is a big focus on medal tally and not participation. Why do anything unless you are going to win?! That question is rhetorical for BB swimmers.
Part of the positive experience of swimming with BB is that you see the horizon, nature and lots of people out exercising and enjoying life. I am an aspirational swimmer only but a true participant. Lots of people know the secret at BB.
Michael and Annie. Bernhard behind and Martin to the side. Annie is getting married tomorrow. Congratulations!!!
Here are some swimmers going in early and one praising the swim
A group congratulations for Annie and also bon voyage for lovely Sarah.
No ring yet but soon Annie...
Here are Michael and Sarah adding some WOW to a WOW shot because it is Georgina's birthday today - I did not get her in it though
Happy birthday Georgina!!
Gemma and Nick
Gemma and I had identical swimming costumes on today. I was extremely careful not to get in a shot with her because curiously we did not look the same
Warringah Triathlon partici-pants
Quote of the day - Best swim EVA. Clear waters, calm waves and warm temp.
More Warringah Triathletes. Impressive
Roz and newbies from her work - Steve and I forgot. Sorry. Come back for a swim and I will put the name in. I know you will have enjoyed your swim today
I got a lovely shot of Julie at the point.
Jane finally agreed to be photographed for the blog. With Anna and Adrian and Josie
This is Greg Marinan. What a great swimmer. What is going on in that family? Sue and Greg are both great. Is swimming fabulous in all of their family tree?
I love the stingarees. Such a cute name
What I have been reading
The Circle by David Eggers. Pretty excellent story about a young woman who goes to work for the circle which sounds like a facebook/google etc social media giant and the sharing of information. Recommended by one of the many BB readers. Good tip.
