This morning we were faced with the stark realisation that winter is just around the corner - with the water a little nippy to get in but then after a few strokes around in the bay and it was back to the warm summer temperatures.
Along the high tide mark there were plenty of bluebottle remnants meaning a cautious approach in the water. Despite the strong southerly yesterday, there were still a few remnants around and a couple of reports of stings.
Unfortunately I had a camera malfunction this morning so only a few happy snaps.
Henrietta (far left) is one of the most consistent swimmers in our group - in fact Alana, who we miss and look forward to her return, came up with the ditty Henrietta May, never misses a day!!!!
JK was on dog watching duties this morning - he joked that he had heard the chicks dig guys with dogs. Did it work JK?
The waves were relatively tame this morning compared to the last couple of days. Here's hoping they stay that way for the last of the long summer badge swims this weekend. Remember if you are contemplating doing your 10km badge swim this Saturday to stay in a group and remember safety comes first. Hydrate well tomorrow (just one Rose), have a good night's sleep Friday night and bring drinks and snacks to have.
Speaking of snacks there will be a cake stall on Saturday so any contributions will be fondly received and if you can't contribute with some nibbles, then bring plenty of money to purchase some yummy treats.
Anyway until next time

Next 10km badge swim
Next 10km badge opportunity is on Saturday 24 February 2018. If you are going to attempt this make sure you wait at the point for the group after the regular B&B swim. Safety comes first so make sure you buddy up with other swimmers and bring your own refreshments and nibbles or purchase something from the cake stall on Saturday.
Royal Far West
Royal Far West was delighted last year with the response of B&B swimmers to their request for assistance with their activity programs. This year RFW is looking for volunteers to help with their beach games on Wednesday afternoon 3.30-5 pm They run beach volleyball, sand play, volleyball, cricket and soccer. Children are of all ages and abilities and love the help and positive attention. If you can assist with this very rewarding program, please contact Anna Bowden at [email protected].
