Impressive turnout this morning. Management counted 335 swimmers for the 7am group.
The day started off in the usual fashion...
Ian taking photos of newbies:
Shaun selling overpriced counterfeit swim caps:
Lesbubs and Lucy working the camera - giving their loyal Instagram fan base what they want:
It didn't take long for the usual blog tarts come out to play..
Louise almost missed the boat - Brian clearly frustrated by such tardiness..
Max modelling the club budgies..
Amalie was on her way to teach kids how to play with inflatables:
Gratuitous shot of Annie pouring warm milk all over her body:
Time for the 7am main event - lots of chatter on the way in..
Lesbubs and Tim were two of only a handful of swimmers waiting at the Point. The group seemed to disappear towards Shelly without anyone calling the Let's Go..
At Shelly, the usual abundance of happy swimmers willingly posing for the blog camera:
Great having Inge back in the bay:
On the way back, I bumped into Simon, Emma, and Jo:
Love seeing families doing the swim together - mum and dad went back out for a double:
First-timers Lauren and Annabelle:
Dorset and Richard:
Some of Shaun's $15 counterfeit swim caps didn't last the distance and had to be returned:
A big shout-out to Michael and Roger who dedicate their Sunday mornings looking after the less fortunate members of our community:
Similarly, lovely Megan is keeping an eye out for the elderly:
Good to see Martin and Jim back together - looks like they've finally sorted out their differences:
I leave you with this photo of Michael illegally cycling on a footpath without helmet.. (the bike's probably stolen)
Now I'd like to introduce to a new (hopefully regular) Sunday blog segment by Lesbubs.. called 'Bottom of the Blog':
Bottom of the Blog (by Lesbubs):
Getting changed after the swim i was visually assaulted by a bare butt.. no it wasn't Shaun but a another swimmer near the Wall... at first i thought The Butt was naked... there was a cozzie.. but barely...Every swimmer noticed!
Discussions ensued...was the tattoo on the left or right cheek? "Right" said a definite Roger.
How long had the butt been swimming? "The butt joined 3 weeks 4 days and 6 hours ago" said Middle-Management Shaun
"I was feeding the kids their breakfast when I spotted the butt...most of their food ended up on the pavement" said distracted dad Brad.
I grilled the A Team for more info ..the butt stands right next to them.. none of them could tell me, they don't seem to notice these sorts of things.
"What colour was her towel, the cozzie, her/his hair" I asked.. no one knew..
If you have witnessed the butt or know the identity of the owner, please come forward so we can put an end to this discussion and focus on the swim again.
Thank you for your cooperation - Lesbubs
The Stats...
Swimmers: 335

Help Nat help kids with SanFillippo Syndrome
I am participating in ENDURE 24 from 6-7 October which is to support the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation which supports research for treatment and a cure for those suffering from SanFillippo Syndrome.
Sanfilippo Syndrome is a rare genetic disease which affects the central nervous system of children. I know a family from the Northern Beaches whose children both have Sanfilippo Syndrome. They are beautiful children and to think they may not reach adulthood breaks my heart. ENDURE 24 entails a CrossFit workout on the hour for 24 hours at CrossFit Manly Vale. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause the links are below.Thank you, Nat

Help the kids at Royal Far West
Royal Far West would love to hear from any Bold & Beautiful members who are keen to help run a surf/sail/kayak or paddleboard program for our seniors during the summer months. These are children from the country who are at RFW for the week to receive medical help, speech pathology, OT, and more. We have foster kids, kids who come with their families or from remote areas where there is simply no assistance available. A working with children check and surf lifesaving qualification required. To register your interest or enquire please call Linda Scott on 86226838 or email [email protected]. Other non water based volunteer opportunities are also available.
