It has been quite some time since my last blog as I was busy supervising HSC exams. Thanks Lainey for holding the blogging fort! I am so relieved to be back into my normal routine of being able to swim most mornings and to feel the benefits that our swim gives me. I have seen more than enough tension and stress, tears and fears over the past month. I kept thinking, if only these students could swim with the B and B, they might be a lot calmer and more composed. I know that many parents, teachers and students are now able to relax after a job well done.
Having that time away, I had many opportunities to think why it was so important to me. The physical exercise is obviously wonderful, but it was not being able to see everyone's friendly smiles each morning that was hard to cope with. I usually take loads of photos and choose the best for the blog but this morning everyone looked so relaxed, happy and stress free so I have included them all.
Good morning Jill
Beautiful photo, girls!

As the weather and water temperatures are warming up, and the mornings are getting lighter and brighter, there are a quite a lot of 6.30 swimmers. I was not able to get down to Manly to see the earlier groups set off but I believe their numbers are growing as well.
Rochelle and mark feeling super happy with their 6am swim
I met Geoff, Cheryl and Rob this morning. They are all Fire fighters and are in Manly for a training course all week. Geoff and Rob joined up yesterday and talked Cheryl into coming down this morning for a 6am swim. Welcome guys! I'm sure the rest of your day will be fantastic
I also met newbies David, Linc, Dan and Pete. They all look like they had a brilliant swim. Welcome guys!
So Summer is coming - Over the last couple of days we have noticed that the flies are back and the jimbles are fewer. Warmer waters greet us but rips are starting, the glare is blinding and navigation can be tricky . But there was a lot to celebrate today. Not only did we have near perfect conditions - calm, warm waters, relative clarity and easy crossing except for the odd jimble,
We also celebrated Alison's birthday with a splash at Shelley and in true B and B style, lots of delicious cake

I love this photo! there is such a relaxed happy look on everyone's faces.
Last nights dinner was a huge success. Having work commitments I was unable to go but I believe it was a blast. Edwina took some great photos of the evening and I understand the band was fantastic.
