BLUEWATER RESTAURANT REPORT
This was the sky at 6.30 pm last night, as the monthly Bluewater evening was commencing ...
Guest speaker was Di Westaway - head of Wild Women on Top. Her talk was titled “NATURAL EXHILARATION: Design a life you love”. Di believes that high adventure is Fun!
Di began by acknowledging that the Pink Caps are already delving deeply into an active, satisfying life via the adventure of dawn swims in the wild.
Here are Di's nine elements of daily "Lifestyle Medicine". To keep you feeling sparkly :)
————————————————
1. LOVE Feel it … give it … share it
2. MOVEMENT An hour of exercise. Including seven minutes of puffing
3. NOURISHMENT Eat real food. Don’t eat junk. (Except cake on Friday Tridays)
4. SLEEP You need seven to eight hours. For healing and repair
5. NATURE Get out into the wilds. The mountains. The oceans.
6. MEDITATION It can be simple. You can even mediate while swimming.
7. GRATITUDE Really feel it. Ritualise it each day. Conscious gratefulness
8. HAPPINESS Laughing. Joy. Mirth. “Just look at Elaine sitting over there”
9. DISCONNECT Spend at least one hour a day Offline and Off your phone, TV, headphones etc
Di emphasised that we really really need to get off the junk food - it’s worse than you think. Anything packaged, with lots of numbers on its labelling. Bad stuff.
She gave a great talk - thanks Di Westaway :)
