It was a bit overcast this morning accompanied by a light drizzle. The visibility was not great under water but the sunrise did not disappoint. Our little corner of Manly was a hub of excitement and chatter. The rain over night, plus the cold temperature did not keep the Bold and Beautiful Squad in bed. I love this about the Squad.
Each of us have the same amount of time given to us each day. It is up to us to spend it how we may. I have always loved this quote.
I have come to the realisation that I need to cherish the now and be present and not living in the past or the future. Time literally waits for no man it is a precious commodity. Muhammad Ali was a great human who passed away on the 3 June 2016. The entire world was in mourning. Politicians, celebrities, his friends and family all spoke fondly of him. My entire Facebook news feed and Instagram account were all about Muhammad Ali and his life and legacy. It got me thinking of what I would want to be remembered for? When people say my name what would be their feelings towards me? In addition, am I living the best version of myself and am I actively engaged with doing what I love?
Today I have accompanied some of Muhammad Ali's most famous quotes and likened them to life here with the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad. In addition, I have included my little series that I like to call Humans of the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad, where I have interviewed willing swimmers and have asked them:
- Why did you start swimming with the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad?
- How does it make you feel?
Today's Blog is dedicated to you out there trying to be the best version of yourself in order to make the world a better place. Also a massive shout out to my girl Sar who gave me the idea to include Muhammad Äli in the blog today. Love you girl.
“Don't count the days, make the days count.”
― Muhammad Ali
Yesterday I had a spare 30 minutes before I had to attend to being a mama, so I wanted to make the day count. Here are 3 quick snapshots I took on my stroll, whilst bumping into friends for chats.
This picture was taken yesterday as I went for an early morning stroll 6:15am.

"The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up."- Muhammad Ali
Wake Up! Rise and Shine! Good Morning World! Squad members making their dreams come true.
“Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”
Muhammad Ali
I think this quote is spot on in regards to the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad who have a great desire to swim, plus the SKILL and the WILL. You are all Champions! #champions #squadgoals
Chilling, floating, chatting, admiring at the Point.

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."- Muhammad Ali
Ian and John. What is not to love about these two Champions. Each day of the year you will most likely see these two standing by the Tree; meeting, greeting, giggling, advising, hugging and taking photos of newbies. They serve us Bold and Beautiful swimmers every day. Thank you for your service and dedication. (pic taken in January)
I couldn't talk about service and not mention Ian's better half the beautiful Pauline. I have swam and walked with her a few times. I love doing this with her. She is super caring and considerate in her swimming nature. We sometimes set off together a bit later or walk to half way when it is a bit rough. Not to mention her driving Ian in the mornings sometimes when Ian is a bit hung over from the previous night. Thank you.
"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain it's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship you really haven't learned anything."- Muhammad Ali
The Women of the Wall (self named) I always see these beautiful woman laughing and talking. They are obviously fantastic friends. Thank you for always making me feel welcome each morning.
A lot of great friendships have been created here at the Bold and Beautiful.
Zoe and I met here in October of last year. We are now the best of friends. She is away in Barcelona till September. Where there was one of us the other wouldn't be more than a few inches away. Lainey even resorted to calling us ZoeNat. hahahaha. Miss you Zo (pic taken in March)
I met Amanda on her first swim a couple of months back. I love meeting new peeps.
Tracy and Sophia who met right here at the Bold and Beautiful
Amanda and Gino who also met here at the Bold and Beautiful Squad. I even introduced them. Say whaaaat!?

Introducing a few of our Squad members:
Marie "I wanted to swim because I wanted the winter badge. This is my 7th swim and it makes me feel great."
(On a side note, I absolutely love her cossie it is so elegant and timeless.)
Yen (left) "I started swimming with the Bold and Beautiful because it makes me happy. I have been swimming here for a couple of years every Saturday."
Leneh (right) "I just like swimming and I like the waves. It makes me feel happy."
\
Shelly (right) "Jenny Holmes started me off, it started as a bit of a challenge. But now I am completely addicted and I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. I have been swimming here for about three and a half years. I am addicted!"
Melise (left) "I used to walk past everyone in the morning on my way to work. But Patrick told me to just get in the water. So I did. It makes me feel lucky to be alive and living in Manly and to be a part of this community."
Sophia "My friend Vanessa introduced me to it who then introduced me to JK who I now swim with. Oh it is brilliant, every single day I find a new reason to love it."
(On a side note, JK where on earth are you? Where have you been? I want my morning hugs and Sophia wants her swimming buddy back.)
Tracey "I always loved the ocean and when we moved to Australia my friend Paula got me int he water and now I come all the time. I love it, it makes me destress and I love seeing all the animals. "
Sophia and Tracey are both moved to Australia from the UK and they met and became friends right here at the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad.
I will leave you with my 3 most favourite quotes from Muhammad Ali.
"Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you're going to be right."- Muhammad Ali
"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." -Muhammad Ali
"Love is a net that catches hearts like a fish."
Thank you for reading. I hope you are living your best life or change something in order for you to do so.
Peace out till next month.
Nat (selfie taken on my way back to the car after the swim, before I brought my five boys to the first of their footy matches which began at 8:30am.)
p.s. sorry there are no stats I forgot to get them off Ian. But the temperature was 19.3 degrees when i checked the white board at 6:45am
