Over 146 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Cabbage Tree Bay looked just like our amazing cake, which was donated by Neil Smith from Peek-a-boo Party Cakes, this morning, with lots of pink activity :-)
An amazing turnout of happy swimmers all enjoying a fabulous start to this beautiful autumn Sunday.
The water is just beautiful and the visibility is starting to clear !! The rest of this week should be magic.
Cae and Gaetan set off early to enjoy a swim up to Freshie and back, meanwhile Dave, Collie, Derek, Jon, Michael and Sarah had their double dose early due to our badge ceremony celebrations. Little Sarah completed her first ever double all without fins !! :-)
Then over to Manly Wine to celebrate our summer achievements:
189 swimmers qualified for their 2012 B&B long distance summer badge, with 123 completing the 6km and 66 completing the 10km. An outrageously fantastic number - double last year - WOW, WOW, WOW and well done to you all !!! :-)
To see all the photos from the ceremony please visit the website here
To see a list of all qualifiers please click here and download the two separate files.
A particular thank you to Ian, Michael and Vicki for their help today. Manly Wine for hosting and putting on such an efficient breakfast for us. Vanessa for designing our highly sought after badges and to Neil for the most amazing cake which was not only a culinary delight but visually an absolute masterpiece !!
Thank you to all of you too !!! Every single swimmer embraces Bold & Beautiful so passionately and compassionately, making it such a positive and special experience for everybody !!! Here's to us :-)
If you were away this weekend and missed today's excitement don't despair, you can collect (and pay for) your badge at any morning swim.
Simon Eddy couldn't share in the fun this morning as he was cycling 235km in the 3 peaks challenge in Victoria today - ouch !
Whilst Neil Cowin led our Pacific Challenge the whole way through summer, Michael Christie is now our current leader, well done guys and keep up the swimming :-)
What's next... Winter Badge Challenge starts on the 1st June... ;-)
We have ~10 swimmers heading off early May to swim 10 or 20kms in Lake Argyle :-)
Plus there is some interest in doing a collective adventure swim over Easter... maybe Manly to Dee Why conditions permitting of course... anyone keen ??
Happy birthday to Sandy McIndoe and Alison Christie today :-)
